Some Koodo Mobile Customers Hit With $5 Monthly Bill Increases
Another day and we’re hearing about more wireless price increases, this time targeting some Koodo customers.
Some Koodo customers have voiced frustration after noticing a $5 increase on their recent bills. Many subscribers reported seeing no obvious warning prior to the price adjustment, only discovering the change when checking their regular monthly statements, in fine print on the final page of their previous billing cycle.
When reaching out to customer service, some users explained on Reddit they were told the extra charge was tied to network maintenance costs or legacy account migrations. Others were incorrectly flagged for using older 3G network profiles despite carrying modern 5G devices. The price increases are being targeted to those on month to month plans.
Koodo is not the only carrier raising prices. Similar price hikes have appeared across major flanker brands including Fido, Bell, and Virgin Plus over recent weeks.
To avoid the extra monthly charge, some subscribers have successfully contacted support reps to negotiate account credits or revert to lower rates. Others are choosing to switch providers altogether, opting for prepaid alternatives or those with price freezes such as Freedom Mobile.
Again, you may want to check your most recent billing statements to see if any price hikes were mentioned. Most people don’t check their statements monthly and when they actually do, it can be frustrating to see a price increase mentioned on the last page.
