Customers will need to setup two pre-authorized payments or a payroll as a direct deposit to quality for the Apple promo, plus stay with RBC for at least one year. Otherwise, the bank will charge you for one of the following:

  • 38mm Apple Watch Series 1 – $359
  • 42mm Apple Watch Series 1 – $399
  • 16GB unlocked iPhone SE – $500 (you’ve already paid $79 on top)

…or I could forego their silly monthly fees by sticking to my Tangerine account! It still amazes me that it has become “acceptable” (in the public’s mind) for banks to charge 15$ a month for them to earn interest on your money.

I don’t understand why we have to pay them money for them to keep our money. Does it make any sense?

It doesn’t make sense to pay the banks to manage our money that they lend further and get interest on. They should pay us for letting them keep out money. But again this is Canada so like the Big 3 make us bend , similarly the Big 3 banks follow suit. But the best way is open the account and bet the watch and close it after 1 year. So u paid $15×12=$180 for a $359 watch and that too in intallments lol.
