Tinder Testing New ‘Feed’ Feature in Canada
Tinder has today announced that it is beginning the test of a new feature called ‘Feed’, which shows users real-time updates from their matches. The new Feed format, which is being tested only in Canada, Australia and New Zealand for the time being, is designed to help users learn more about their matches, and will include things like their new profile pictures, Instagram posts, and Spotify Top Artists.
“Feed brings your matches to life by delivering a visual and interactive experience that helps you spark conversation with the people you want to meet most. It’s an exciting new way to see more of what someone is all about by giving you a true glimpse into their world—their passions, their personality, their latest adventure—all leading to better conversations and deeper connections.”
The feature will let users comment on any posts in their Feed, meaning even if they don’t want a Tinder date to follow them on Instagram, they will still be able to leave a private comment on their photos on Tinder. The feature could also make things easier for those users who aren’t sure what sort of information to include in a profile, or have left off something notable about them.
The Feed will appear as a tab on the Messages screen and will help to spark conversations between matches. Users can start these Feed-initiated chats by double-tapping on the content that’s shared, then responding to it directly. Users can also control what appears in the Feed from the app’s Settings or by editing your profile.
Tinder has not yet revealed when the feature will be rolled out to public.
