Chatr Targeted Promo: $50/6GB Plan If Users Switch to Rogers

Chatr is the prepaid wireless offering from Rogers, and currently there’s a targeted promo offering customers to switch over to the parent company, in the form of a $50/month plan with 6GB data.

The email reads:

Hi there!

Chatr is always looking out for you! That includes sharing deals we think you might be interested in. Our friends at Rogers are please to bring you this exclusive limited-time offer!

The plan includes 6GB of data, unlimited Canada-wide calling and SMS/MMS. While the offer is not as good as the recent $60/10GB promo offered in BC, Alberta and Ontario, the lure of 6GB data for $50 is to switch prepaid users over to more valuable postpaid accounts, and yet another move to dodge the allure of Shaw’s Freedom Mobile, which offers a $50 plan with 10GB data, on its growing LTE network.

Let us know if you received this targeted Chatr offer and if you’ll be making the switch.

Rogers must be hurting, last night I received a call from them asking to port my number back. They offered the plan the 10GB/$60 plan plus to pay my first bill and the activation fee, LOL.

Its a pretty good deal imo. Considering Rogers owns Chatr, and because Chatr is crap, I’d switch to Rogers if I was in your shoes.

I ended up going with Telus. Just to note I was a Rogers subscriber for 9+ years, basically since the launch of the iPhone 3G in Canada.
