Elgato’s New Eve Button Can Control Your Apple HomeKit-Enabled Accessories

At this years CES, Elgato is adding a new accessory to its lineup. The company unveiled a new Bluetooth HomeKit-enabled device called the Eve Button.

The Eve Button is the company’s newest product that allows users to activate up to three HomeKit scenes without the need for a smartphone. The device fits beautifully into the company’s lineup of HomeKit-compatible accessories with a sleek aluminum enclosure.

Users can choose to single press, double press, or long press the button to activate one of three different HomeKit scenes. The Eve Button is not as fancy as some other options, but it is a simple and standalone device that works well with HomeKit-enabled products.

The device is powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery and requires an iOS device running iOS 11.2 or later. An Apple TV with tvOS 11 or an iPad must be configured as a home hub to use this accessory from Elgato.

The Eve Button will be available later this month for $49.95 USD from Elgato’s website and from Apple Stores.

Is their button a bigger button than everyone else’s? I look forward to seeing it.

Doesn’t seem super useful in the age of voice assistants. Do I really want to get up to go press a button when I can just use siri instead?
