Instagram Tests Support for Sharing Others’ Posts to Your Own Story

According to a new report from TechCrunch, Instagram has started testing an option that lets you “regram” public posts from other users to your own story.

For those who have access to the feature, it will appear as an option to “add post to your story” when you tap the share icon. The feature is currently only available to a small percentage of users. In a statement, the company said:

“We’re always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram.”

With this feature, users will be able to add commentary and stickers to alter someone else’s post and make it their own. As with any post to your Story, the content is temporary and will disappear after 24 hours.

Instagram is allowing those with public profiles to opt out of this feature. The toggle for this feature can be found in the Settings section of the app.
