How to Upgrade and Manage your iCloud Storage According to Apple [VIDEO]

If you’re not sure how to upgrade or manage your iCloud storage, Apple Support has published a video tutorial on YouTube this morning, to hold your hand throughout the entire process.

The video starts off by saying, “If you’ve reached, or approached your iCloud storage limit”, which is pretty funny because Apple only provides a measly 5GB of free storage, regardless of the capacity of your iOS device.

How to upgrade your storage? Go to Settings > Tap Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage > Upgrade. Apple also has more info on how to manage your storage here.

iCloud storage pricing in Canada is as follows:

  • 50GB – $1.29/month
  • 200GB – $3.99/month
  • 2TB – $12.99/month

The majority of your iCloud storage will most likely be gobbled up by your Photos and device backups. If you want to save on your iCloud storage, buy discounted iTunes Gift Cards from Costco when they go on sale (for 20% off). Then use these cards to fund a balance on your iTunes Account, which can be used to fund your iCloud Storage payments.

What’s your current iCloud storage plan? How much storage are you using?

Informative article Also, family sharing allows you to share the capacity even if you don’t access the other person’s files. My wife and I share a combined 200 gig limit..
