Apple Pulls AirPlay 2 from Latest iOS 11.3 and tvOS 11.3 Betas

Earlier today, Apple released a new beta for iOS 11.3 and tvOS. Shortly after the release, the folks over at iDownloadBlog noticed that a major feature was missing.

AirPlay 2 is nowhere to be found in the latest beta of iOS 11.3 and tvOS 11.3. For those who haven’t seen it, AirPlay 2 is Apple’s protocol for casting audio to multiple devices at the same time.

In the third beta of iOS 11.3 and tvOS 11.3, Apple has apparently removed all those features and settings completely.

Clearly, this means that Apple is not yet ready to release AirPlay 2 to the public. The company has not yet set an official release date for AirPlay 2 but did promise that it would be released later this year.

With Apple’s inclusion of the standard in the iOS 11.3 betas, it seemed like it may go live for the public when the update is released this spring. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, which could mean that Apple delays the feature until iOS 12.
