The 91st Academy Awards take place tonight, set to kick off at 5PM PT / 8PM ET, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The biggest—and most glamourous—night in Hollywood will see the industry’s stars vie to win an Oscar.
If you want to watch the 2019 Oscars in Canada, Bell Media owns the distribution rights, so you’ll have to tune into CTV.ca online to watch the live stream, or use the CTV iOS and Android apps. On your television, you’ll have to tune into CTV.
CTV’s eTalk will have a 45-minute ETALK LIVE special starting at 3:30 PM PT / 6:30 PM ET from their Twitter account @eTalkCTV and on CTV.ca, showing the best of the red carpet leading up to the awards show.
Also, @IMDB on Twitter will have their third annual live Oscars streaming show starting at 4:30 PM PT to 9:30 PM PT (7:30 PM ET to 11:30 PM ET).

Another live Twitter show will take place on the @People Twitter account, with their Oscars pre-show from 2PM PT to 3:30PM PT (5:00pm – 6:30pm ET) featuring red carpet interviews and moments with hosts Jess Cagle (@mrjesscagle), Lola Ogunnaike (@lolaogunnaike), JD Heyman (@jdheyman), Gerrad Hall (@gerradhall) and Piya Sinah-Roy (@piyasroy).

As for Canadians to keep an eye out on, Toronto’s Trevor Jimenez is nominated for best animated short, “Weekends”, while Domee Shi from Toronto and her animated short “Bao” is also nominated in the same category. Vancouver couple David Fine and Alison Snowden are also part of this best animated short category with their film, “Animal Behaviour.”
The best live action short film category includes Canadians Jeremy Comte for “Fauve” and Marianne Farley for “Marguerite,” with both finalists hailing from Montreal, Quebec.
The Canadian Press notes “Other Canadian nominees include sound mixer Paul Massey for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” sound mixer Craig Henighan for “Roma” and set decorator Gordon Sim for “Mary Poppins Returns.””
