Rogers Ignite TV is Coming to Newfoundland on May 28

Rogers customers in Newfoundland will soon be able to take advantage of Ignite TV, the company’s Internet-based television service based on Comcast’s X1 cloud-based TV platform that made its debut last year in Ontario.

The company announced earlier this week Ignite TV will be launching in the province starting May 28, allowing Rogers subscribers to “experience the best in entertainment.”

For those who aren’t familiar with the service, Ignite TV comes with smaller set-top boxes and a voice-controlled remote, while the box integrates Netflix, YouTube, a SportsApp and a KidsZone. Subscribers can also download shows to their mobile devices.

Newfoundland Ignite TV bundles will start at $109.99 per month for the ‘Starter’ package, all the way up to $169.99 for the ‘Premier’ package.

Bundle details

  • 1 Ignite TV Box, additional set-top boxes may be added for a monthly rental fee of $5/month. You can have a maximum of 10 set-top boxes per account.
  • 1 Rogers Ignite Modem and access to 5 email addresses.
  • The option to add Ignite Home Phone with unlimited Canada-wide long distance calling and seven popular calling features.
  • There is an Ignite TV professional installation fee of $149.99 plus tax.
