Eastlink Launches $75/15GB Plan with ‘Worry-Free Data’

Eastlink worry free data

Wireless wars in Canada continue, as carriers continue to react to new ‘unlimited’ or no overage plans from the Big 3, started when Rogers debuted Infinite plans.

Eastlink has launched a new $75 plan with 15GB of “worry-free data” to go with unlimited Canada-wide talk and text.

“Say goodbye to unexpected data charges and never worry about overages again,” explains the Eastlink website.

Instead of offering throttled data once your 15GB plan is up, Eastlink says you’ll be notified when you’ve consumed 75% and 100% of your data limit.

To continue using data, you’ll need to purchase a 1GB/$20 or 2GB/$30 data top-up. Eastlink says if you opt for the plan but without the worry-free data option, you’ll use extra data at pay-per-use rates, at $0.05 per megabyte ($5/100MB).

Whereas Rogers, Telus and Bell offer throttled data once you’ve consumed your data bucket, Eastlink is just offering a $75/15GB plan, which has 5GB more data than the $75/10GB offerings from the Big 3.
