All iPhone 11 Models Include New Dynamic Power Management System

According to a new Apple support document spotted by the folks over at 9to5Mac, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max all include a new dynamic power management system, that seems to limit any impact on the performance of these devices as battery health degrades over time.

Apple notes that its iPhone 11 lineup features a new software and hardware battery management system that is “always on and dynamic.” Although previous-generation iPhone models also featured some sort of power management hardware, the new system included in the iPhone 11 sounds more advanced.

Here’s what Apple writes:

“iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max power needs are dynamically monitored, and performance is managed so that it can address these needs in real-time. The system is more advanced than previous iPhone battery and power management systems and allows your iPhone to reduce performance impacts from battery aging.”

Nonetheless, the iPhone 11 battery will still age with time like any other lithium-ion battery, which may eventually result in longer app launch times, slower cellular data throughput, as well as lower screen brightness and speaker output.
