Fortnite Chapter 2 Arrives with New Location, Updated Gameplay, and More

As predicted in a report yesterday, Fortnite’s “The End” event has concluded today with an all-new Chapter 2 going live online that brings an entirely new location to explore, new gameplay features, including fishing and swimming, and tons of new vehicles to utilize like boats and pogo sticks (via The Verge).

Chapter 2

The new island features plenty of forests, mountains, and lakes to explore, with only a few city or urban locales. The abundance of green will, however, likely change as the battle royale island continues to evolve through updates and new seasons.

In addition to new gameplay features, Fortnite Chapter 2 also brings new multiplayer emotes to co-ordinate dances with friends, as well as new weapons including a common variant of the rocket launcher, and a brand-new semi-automatic pistol:

“There’s a new subscription battle pass that players can pay for to earn bonuses like character skins, the highlight of which is an adorable blue blob creature. The battle pass also works slightly different compared to past seasons. Progression has been changed so that you can earn experience from doing more things, including getting kills or even just opening chests. It costs 950 V-Bucks and you’re able to earn an additional 1,500 from completing goals.”
