Several 16-inch MacBook Pro owners are complaining of a strange ‘popping’ sound coming from their notebooks, sometimes during intensive tasks such as Final Cut Pro, or sometimes even while playing back videos.
Some users believe it is not a hardware issue and should be fixed with a future software update. One Reddit user even noted that he experienced the issue out of the box but it was resolved after updating his 16-inch MacBook Pro. The user, however, did not say which particular update fixed it for him.
