How to Quickly Reconnect Your AirPods with One Tap

Generally, when AirPods don’t connect to your iPhone automatically, you swipe down from the top to bring up the Control Centre, tap the little line on top of the media card, and tap the AirPods to connect. As shared by a Redditor, however, there seems to be an even faster way to connect the AirPods with just one tap.

The process involves using Apple’s Shortcuts app that allows iOS users to create and set up custom shortcuts to make life easier. Simply follow the steps below to set up the one-tap shortcut for quickly reconnecting your AirPods.

Step 1:

Connect the AirPods to your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2:

Install and launch the Shortcuts app.

Step 3:

Select the Automation tab and tap Add Action on the top right to “Create personal automation.”

Step 4:

Tap “Open App” at the bottom of the list and select an app you want to use to connect to your AirPods (like Music or Podcast). The tap Done and then Next.

Step 5:

Now tap Add Action again and tap Scripting. Once there, select “Set media playback destination” and under the new action, tap iPhone and then select your AirPods.

Step 6:

Finally, tap Next and set “Ask before running” to OFF and then Done.

Now, whenever you need to quickly connect your AirPods, simply start the app and if your AirPods are in range, they will switch to it automatically.
