Twitter Now Lets You Share iOS Live Photos as GIFs
Twitter has announced it’s now possible to share your iOS Live Photos as GIFs, “anywhere you upload photos” on the social network.
With Live Photos, your iPhone will capture 1.5 seconds before and after a picture is taken, allowing you to see both movement and sound. It also allows for some neat animated photos, or GIFs.
Twitter says you’ll be able to turn your Live Photos into GIFs when you upload, without leaving the Twitter app. When you upload your Live Photo, just tap the “GIF” button in the lower left corner of your image, to turn it into a GIF.

According to Apple, Live Photos is available on iPhone 6s or later, iPad (5th generation) or later, iPad Air (3rd generation), iPad mini (5th generation), iPad Pro (all models), and iPod touch (7th generation).
Earlier today, Twitter also announced JPEG photo uploads would no longer lose their picture quality when uploaded from the web.
