Bell Media has announced its streaming service, Crave, will go bilingual on January 28, 2020. The expanded offerings will see over 6,000 hours of “exclusive new French-language content,” says Bell.

The change will see Bell’s Super Ecran become available as an add-on to Crave. An Internet-only subscription to this will cost $9.99/month on top of the base Crave subscription ($9.99/month), for a total of $19.98 total. Existing subscribers will see “hundreds of French titles” with over 5,000 additional hours added, at no extra cost.

“Our strategy is to make Crave the essential entertainment option in Canada, and today’s announcement strengthens that goal,” said Randy Lennox, President, Bell Media, in a statement. “As a bilingual service, Crave’s offering becomes even more exciting.”

Bell Media also secured French-language rights to select HBO Max programming, coming later this year. Current HBO titles such as The Outsider, The New Pope and Madame Lebrun will be available in French, with the new Super Ecran add-on.

Crave will also have numerous French original series added, such as Pour Toujours Plus un Jour, Canal D’s Sur Les Traces D’un Tueur en Serie and other made-in-Quebec productions.

Crave is available on various platforms, including Apple TV, iOS, Android, the web and more.
