Public Mobile Offering $50/7GB, $35/1GB Migrations Plans to Koodo

Public Mobile, the prepaid brand from Telus, has been texting migration offers to its customers in an effort to switch them over to sister brand, Koodo Mobile.

According to recent texts sent out to Public Mobile customers, what’s being offered are plans such as $50/7GB and $35/1GB. Check out the specific messages below (via RFD):

“Public Mobile here with an exclusive offer from our friends at Koodo. Switch to Koodo today to get a $0 phone with Tab S up to XL. Get 7GB of Shock-Free Data at 4G LTE speeds for $50/mo. Offer expires March 4.”

Another message reads, “Switch to Koodo today to get a $0 phone with Tab S. Get 1GB of Shock-Free Data at 4G LTE speeds for $35/mo. Offer expires March 4.”

The latter offer is an odd one, as those being targeted are saying they currently are on a $25/1GB plan with Public Mobile. But the Koodo offer is at $35/1GB, a $10 per month increase; however, there is the option of a “$0 phone with Tab S”.

Why the targeted offers to switch to a sister brand? Koodo is a postpaid service and has the potential for data overages, long distance charges and other extras that can increase your bill, whereas Public Mobile is prepaid. Higher monthly bills can lead to improved metrics to keep investors happy.

We’ve previously seen Public Mobile offer migration plans to Koodo before. Back in the spring of 2018, offers were at $40/6GB if customers wanted to switch to Koodo, for example.
