Apple Podcasts App Now Highlights Coronavirus and Relaxing Content

Apple’s Podcasts app has been updated to feature and highlight content regarding COVID-19. Podcasts that appear on the curated lists are from reputable sources and are aimed to inform and entertain listeners.

According to a report from AppleInsider, a new section under the “Browse” menu finds a list dubbed “Coronavirus: Stay Informed” section. Within, you’ll find a selection of podcasts and specials produced by news providers such as CNN, BBC, ABC, and NPR. The shows revolve around up-to-date news regarding the outbreak of coronavirus as well as panel discussions.

Not only has Apple begun curating lists for listeners to stay informed, but they have also created a meditative and calming section to help listeners stay relaxed during their downtime. “Cultivating Calm” can also be found within the “Browse” menu. It features a selection of published podcasts revolving around mindfulness and meditation including The Happiness Lab with Dr. Lauren Santos, Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations, and The Slowdown.

A “Boredom Busters” list features entertaining podcasts and engaging storytelling. Disorganized Crime, Gaslight, Homecoming, and Finding Fred are amongst the list. Finally, there is also a “Shows For Kids” section which features educational content aimed at kids to fill in their day as many schools and daycares have been temporarily closed.

These curated lists may be found on both iOS, Mac devices, and Apple TV.
