Xplornet Waiving Home Internet Data Overages Due to COVID-19

Earlier this week, New Brunswick-based Xplornet announced it would be waiving home Internet data overages for its rural customers, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The move follows similar policies in effect from telecom providers across Canada, as Canadians practice social distancing.

“To help you stay connected from home, Xplornet is waiving for residential customers any overage charges for data used starting today [March 17] until April 30, 2020. There is nothing you need to do to take advantage of this change. We will automatically waive any additional data usage on your account for data used in that period,” explained the company.

Xplornet says they have also “taken action” to ensure their networks are ready for increased data consumption during daytime hours, to not impact your Internet speeds.

“We will continue to evaluate options and the steps necessary to provide you with a fast and reliable service, without the worry of extra usage charges,” concluded the company.
