iOS 14 to Bring 1Password-Like Features to iCloud Keychain

Based on a leaked build of iOS 14 obtained by the folks over at 9to5Mac, it appears that Apple is looking to improve the iCloud Keychain password manager by introducing 1Password-like features, including two-factor password integration and more.

According to the source, the iCloud Keychain feature on iOS 14 will warn users about reused passwords just like 1Password does so that users can avoid using the same password on multiple websites. Research has shown that hackers commonly test passwords exposed from one database with other online accounts.

For the same reason, users are encouraged to enable two-factor authentication on all their accounts as it ensures hackers can’t log in with your credentials if your login information is exposed.

What is also interesting is that, based on iOS 14 code, we can say that there will be a new method to save two-factor authentication passwords. That means you’ll be able to log in on compatible sites without using only the iCloud Keychain, without SMS, email or other less secure methods.

New iCloud Keychain features may also attract more users as the service is free for those who own an Apple device, as opposed to competing password management apps like 1Password or LastPass.
