Huawei’s Answer to Apple Card is its Own ‘Huawei Card’ Credit Card

Upholding its age-old tradition of blatantly ripping off Apple, Chinese copycat-giant Huawei has responded to Apple with its Apple Card by introducing its own ‘Huawei Card’ credit card today at a local launch event. Unsurprisingly, the Huawei Card also borrows the majority of the Apple Card’s best features (via Engadget).

Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu unveiled the Huawei Card, which comes in both physical and virtual card formats like the Apple Card. Similar to the iPhones, Huawei’s smartphones will store any Huawei Card data in the same secure enclave that handles mobile payments.

The Huawei Card supports NFC for tap and is backed by China’s largest card payment organization UnionPay. There’s no first-year annual fee, and the company will waive the second-year fee for those who spend a certain amount through Huawei Pay.

The card also comes with travel benefits. After spending a certain amount of money, users can get lounge access at train stations and airports. Huawei plans to offer special in-app promotions, and people who pay for purchases using Huawei Pay will be eligible for cashback rebates.

No official release date has so far been announced for the Huawei Card.
