According to reliable Apple leaker Jon Prosser, the company’s next line of 5G iPhone 12 models will start at $649 USD (about $901 CAD), while the largest model will start at $1,099 USD (about $1526 CAD). Prosser previously leaked Apple’s iPhone SE launch date and pricing, ahead of the device’s announcement.

“Been seeing some reports speculating on iPhone 12 prices, so I asked my sources,” said Prosser on early Thursday morning. He then cited the following iPhone 12 models and pricing below in U.S. dollars:

5.4 iPhone 12 D52G
OLED / 5G
2 cam
$649

6.1 iPhone 12 D53G
OLED / 5G
2 cam
$749

6.1 iPhone 12 Pro D53P
OLED / 5G
3 cam + LiDAR
$999

6.7 iPhone 12 Pro Max D54P
OLED / 5G
3 cam + LiDAR
$1,099

To put the higher-end prices into perspective, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro Max USD pricing shared above by Prosser are the same as the current iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max USD pricing. The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 is listed at $50 higher than the existing iPhone 11 USD pricing (currently at $699 USD).

Here are the same specs but converted into Canadian dollars based on today’s exchange rate:

5.4 iPhone 12 D52G
OLED / 5G
2 cam
$901 CAD

6.1 iPhone 12 D53G
OLED / 5G
2 cam
$1,040 CAD

6.1 iPhone 12 Pro D53P
OLED / 5G
3 cam + LiDAR
$1,387 CAD

6.7 iPhone 12 Pro Max D54P
OLED / 5G
3 cam + LiDAR
$1,526 CAD

Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro in Canada currently starts at $1379 CAD and iPhone 11 Pro Max at $1519 CAD.

The Canadian dollar isn’t very strong right now when compared to the U.S. dollar, with exchange rates at about $1.39 for converting USD to CAD. Apple used a $1.50 exchange rate for the 2020 iPhone SE ($399 USD –> $599 CAD), and that could be the case for iPhone 12 pricing in Canada this fall, meaning Canadians will be paying more locally for 2020 iPhone models.

Are you ready for more expensive iPhone 12 models this fall, even if they are 5G-ready?
