Sony Postpones PlayStation 5 Event to Respect Ongoing Protests

Sony has announced it has postponed its highly anticipated PlayStation 5 event that was set for June 4, 2020.
“While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard,” said the company on Twitter.

Sony announced the event last Friday, which was set to unveil “the future of gaming” and preview titles for the next-generation PlayStation console.
The decision comes as numerous protests against police brutality and racism are ongoing in Canada, the U.S. and other parts of the world, sparked by the death of American George Floyd in Minnesota by the hands of Minneapolis police.
