NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service has inked a deal with Corus to bring the former’s original shows to Canada.

Announced earlier this week (the day after WWDC chaos), the deal means Peacock original programming, including scripted and unscripted shows, along with movies and specials to be aired across the Corus network and platforms.

“Corus is delighted to expand its offering with our long-time partner NBCUniversal to bring various Peacock Originals to audiences in Canada,” said Troy Reeb, Executive Vice President, Broadcast Networks, Corus Entertainment, in a statement. “With full linear and on-demand stacking rights, this partnership further bolsters Corus’ powerful suite of brands and platforms with more premium content opportunities for advertisers.”

Some of the Peacock shows set to be made available in Canada on Corus include:

  • Girls5Eva
  • Dr. Death
  • Angelyne
  • Brave New World,
  • Rutherford Falls
  • A.P. Bio
  • Punky Brewster
  • Saved By The Bell

“We are thrilled that the Canadian market will be able to soon enjoy a variety of scripted and unscripted Peacock Originals,” said Belinda Menendez, President and Chief Revenue Officer, Global Distribution and International, NBCUniversal, in a statement.

Peacock was first announced last fall and at the time, the company told iPhone in Canada it planned to launch in international markets “down the road”. Corus now has full linear and on-demand stacking rights to Peacock original programming in Canada. This suggests a standalone Peacock launch for Canada may not be in the works.

Corus says more details about Peacock programming will be announced this summer. The Peacock streaming service launches widely in the United States on July 15, 2020.
