Fido University Stores Deal: $50/9GB Plan with $150 Credit, 1,000 LD Minutes

If you live close to a Fido store that’s near a university, you can try getting some of these deals targeting students.

According to RFD, new activations can get the current $50/9GB promo BYOD plan, but there’s a one-time credit of $150, plus waived $40 activation fee. A $10 SIM card fee is still charged, however.

But the offer gets better, as a 2GB data bonus is available for extra new line activations, plus there’s also 1,000 free long distance minutes to Australia, Bangladesh, China, Macau, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Mexico, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom for 24 months.

RFD says the $150 one-time credit is only available at these Fido stores close to university campuses and is not limited to students. The offer expires on August 30, 2020.

If you’re in the Greater Toronto Area, here are some Fido stores that can offer the deals above:

  • 220 Yonge St Unit G6
  • 444 Yonge St Unit M7
  • 2 Bloor St E Unit C12
  • 290 Queen St W
  • 333 King St E Unit 110

The extra 2GB for the second line plus the $5 credit for 24 months means it’s possible to get a $45/11GB plan, which is a decent deal.

If you take the $150 credit and divide it over 12 or 24 months, for example, your $50/9GB plan works out to $37.50/9GB for 12 months or $43.75/9GB for 24 months, depending on how long you stick around with Fido.
