If you’re looking for a video doorbell, Google’s excellent Nest Hello video doorbell is on sale for 23% off at $229, at a variety of retailers.
The sale takes $70 off the regular price of $299 and is available from Google’s online store, Costco.ca and BestBuy.ca.
The Nest Hello features HDR video, has night vision and includes a 160-degree field of view, to go with motion and sound alerts and two-way talk. The key feature is facial recognition, and when setup with a Google or Nest smart speaker, you can have audible announcements of who is exactly at your door.
The speaker is only fully unlocked with a Nest Aware subscription, though, but maybe worth it since prices have now moved to per home, instead of per camera recently. A current promo for Nest Aware offers a free Nest Home mini speaker worth $79.
We recently had an issue with our Nest Hello and Google customer service ended up sending a replacement, even with our doorbell outside of the warranty window, all one via online chat.
The discount from Google and other retailers may hint a new version or upgrade to the Nest Hello may be on the way, as the doorbell first debuted in March 2018.
