Apple’s 2020 iPad Air Orders Could Launch this Week Based on Retail Hints
When Apple announced its all-new iPad Air this month, it said the newly designed tablet would launch orders in October, but didn’t specify an exact date.
With the first of October beginning tomorrow, it appears orders may begin at the start of the month instead of later.
According to Bloomberg’s reliable Mark Gurman, he noted this afternoon, “Apple marketing materials for the new iPad Air are starting to land at retail stores, suggesting a launch sooner rather than later. Apple said October, which is tomorrow — so not a surprise.”
On Tuesday, leaker Jon Prosser tweeted, “get your iPad Air money ready,” similarly suggesting orders would be starting soon.
Apple’s 2020 iPad Air has all-new colours (Green and Sky Blue join Silver, Space Grey and Rose Gold), while the design is now all-screen like the iPad Pro, with a 10.9-inch display. But this time around, Touch ID is built into the power button for the first time. The iPad Air also is powered by the new A14 Bionic and supports Apple Pencil (2nd-gen), along with Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio.
In Canada, iPad Air starts at $779 for a 64GB Wi-Fi model, with options for 256GB of storage at $979, while cellular options are priced at $949 and $1,149 respectively.
As we head into October, Apple is expected to unveil its highly-anticipated iPhone 12 lineup too, at a rumoured October 13 event.
