Official Apple TV App for Google Chromecast is Coming Soon

Google has announced that an Apple TV app for its latest Chromecast with Google TV will release early 2021. According to The Verge, the Chromecast Apple TV app will work similar to other versions, allowing subscribers to watch Apple TV+ original shows, movies, and documentaries.

All Apple TV+ originals will also be integrated into Google TV’s content aggregation system, allowing the software to recommend them based on the user’s interests.

Moreover, the Apple TV app will give Chromecast users access to their purchased iTunes library of TV shows and movies, as well as any Apple TV channels to which they’re already subscribed.

“With the addition of the Apple TV app, Chromecast with Google TV users can access Apple TV+. This makes the Chromecast with Google TV one of the only streaming devices with all the major video subscriptions.

With Google TV, you’ll be able to see Apple Originals in your personalized recommendations and search results, making it even easier to find your favorite shows and movies.”

Google plans to roll out the Apple TV app on Chromecast with Google TV early next year.
