Bell Media recently cut over 200 jobs in Toronto (including Dan O’Toole from popular sports show SC with Jay and Dan, while yesterday suddenly yanking three sports radio stations off the air in mid-broadcast in Vancouver, Winnipeg and Hamilton.

Now, it appears there is blowback online related to the job cuts by Bell, as the hashtag ‘#BellLetsCut’ is currently the top trend in Canada, a play on the company’s recent annual #BellLetsTalk mental health fundraising campaign.

People are saying they are going to cancel Bell services over the recent job cuts, and recent revelations parent company BCE Inc. collected $122 million from the federal government’s COVID-19 wage subsidy program, while also increasing dividend payouts to shareholders.

Now, it’s unclear how many people have actually cancelled their services with Bell, but the fallout has reached peak levels, as people are also targeting companies to drop advertising with the telecom as well, enough so to make the new hashtag the top trend on Twitter in Canada right now.

Are you going to cancel your Bell services over these recent job cuts?
