Apple earlier today released iOS 14.5 beta 2, along with other second beta builds of its software for developers.

What’s new in iOS 14.5 beta 2? YouTube channel Zollotech has another great video breaking down the changes.

Here’s a summary of some of the changes in iOS 14.5 beta 2 below:

  • Modem firmware update
  • Settings > Software Update > text wording changed
  • 217 new emojis
  • Music app: slide a song to play next/last
  • Music app: menu animation when playing a song looks updated
  • Shortcuts: new option to incorporate screenshots
  • MagSafe/Wallet: haptic feedback when you remove the charger
  • Watch app: new accessibility option for Headphone Notifications
  • Unlock iPhone with Apple Watch: new icon on Apple Watch
  • Emergency Alerts: wording changed
  • iPadOS 14.5 beta 2: microphone will now mute when Smart Folio closed
  • Green tint when booting up on iPhone fixed; still shows on bright videos

Zollotech says there is still a bug with the MagSafe charging animation, while iPad Pro 11-inch (1st gen and later) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd gen and later) still can’t connect to external displays with a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter.

We still need a few more beta versions before a widespread public release is made available for iOS 14.5, so stay tuned for that.
