Square Enix Announces Two New Final Fantasy VII Games for Mobile
Following the State of Play announcement that Final Fantasy VII Remake would be receiving a PlayStation 5 upgrade and additional content in June, Square Enix revealed two new Final Fantasy VII games for iOS and Android.
On Twitter, developer Square Enix first announced Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier. This mobile title is described as a battle royale set before the events of Final Fantasy VII in the iconic setting of Midgar. Players will take on the role of a SOLDIER candidate and battle to survive against others using weapons, spells, and summons. Based on the gameplay shown, the game features familiar elements as it’s a third-person action game with heavy shooter mechanics. It’s said to be released sometime in 2021.
That’s not all, we’re also presenting two new mobile games!

The second game announced is Final Fantasy Ever Crisis. The design of this mobile title is more in line with the original 1997 Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation. This game is described as a chapter-structured single-player experience taking players through the events of the entire Final Fantasy VII saga. The game will include storylines from Final Fantasy 7, Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. Final Fantasy Ever Crisis is scheduled to release in 2022.
