Apple to Shed Light on ‘Apple Car’ EV Project in the Next 3 to 6 Months: REPORT
Apple might shed some light on its secretive Apple Car project in the next months, if an analysts is to be believed.
Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives expects Apple to lay out the groundwork for the Apple Car in the next 3 to 6 months, he explained Tuesday on CNBC‘s “Squawk Box.”
“It’s a matter of when, not if” for the Apple Car, he added.
Despite the Cupertino company’s plans to go ahead with its “Spring Loaded” event today, the analyst does not expect any news regarding the Apple Car during the presentation.
As far as a potential timeframe goes, Ives believes that the car will be released by 2024, and that an official announcement regarding the EV will come at least two years in advance.
“I think if you start to go into 2022, this starts to get late to the game — especially in a green tidal wave,” Ives said. “So we believe, by summer timeframe, we have more information about the [Apple Car].”
The analyst also notes that Apple still needs to “find the partners” for the Apple Car, which coincides with numerous reports that Apple is still in talks to partner with a number of car manufacturers for EV production.
