According to The Verge, Apple has confirmed that it is discontinuing the space grey variants of its Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad. All three devices will still be available in silver.
The current stock of the devices will still be available for sale on the Apple Store, albeit only “while supplies last”, as noted on their respective Store pages. The same text was added to the now-discontinued iMac Pro‘s Store page before it was taken off the digital shelf for good.
The space grey Magic Keyboards, Magic Trackpads, and Magic Mice originally went on sale in March, 2018. Three years after launch, and with the iPhone maker’s space gray iMac Pro now discontinued, it makes sense for Apple to retire them.
Why the tech giant wanted until now instead of discontinuing them back when it introduced the M1 MacBooks, however, remains unknown. Regardless, no new units of the space gray variants of Apple’s Magic computer accessories will be produced, so act fast if you want one.
Unfortunately, this also means that the Apple-made darker, more aesthetically-pleasing space gray Lightning cable these devices used to come with will also become much harder to come by. The space gray Lightning cable will now only be available with a select few Beats headphones.
