Amazon to Hire 1,800 New Corporate, Tech Employees in Canada in 2021

Amazon announced on Wednesday it plans to hire 1,800 new employees in Canada in 2021, consisting of corporate and technology positions.

The company says the 1,800 hires will support teams across the company, including the likes of AWS, Alexa, Amazon Advertising, and Retail and Operations Technology. Hires will also include positions at its Vancouver and Toronto Tech Hubs.

Amazon says its website is seeking 1,500 candidates for software development managers, senior software development managers,  software development engineers, senior software development engineers, data engineers, program managers, cloud computing solutions architects, sales and marketing executives, and more.

“Amazon is proud to create good jobs that provide opportunities for employees to develop new skills and grow their careers while innovating on behalf of customers,” said Jesse Dougherty, Amazon VP and Vancouver site lead, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada.

The company touted benefits for full time employees, including competitive wages, various medical coverage, RRSP group plan, stock awards, bonuses and more.

Amazon currently has over 23,000 employees in Canada, at its fulfillment centres and corporate offices. Globally, Amazon says it has over 1.3 million employees.
