Pinterest Canada Signs Lease for New Office Location in Toronto

Earlier this year, Pinterest said it will be creating over 50 new jobs and a new engineering hub in Toronto, and now, the company has confirmed in an emailed press release to iPhone in Canada that it has signed a lease for a new office location in the city.

The Pinterest Canada team will move into three floors of 85 Richmond St. West, an Oxford Properties building, next spring, making it its future home to the growing team in Toronto.

The new offices will be designed to promote collaboration and inclusivity. The entire third floor will be dedicated to open meeting spaces and foster a collaborative working environment. Over the next few months, the Pinterest floors will be undergoing renovations to transform the 50,000 sq/ft.

“Toronto was named Pinterest’s first international engineering hub outside the U.S. The engineers in Canada will be working on global products and will be a core part of building the shopping experience on Pinterest.

Toronto will grow to include approximately half of Pinterest’s Shopping engineering team and members of the Toronto team will directly build the shopping technology that will drive Pinterest’s growth over the next 10 years.”

Following the 2018 Toronto office opening, this will be the largest scaling Pinterest has done in Canada.
