Apple Suppliers Readying New MacBook Pro, AirPods For Later This Year: REPORT
A new report from Economic Daily News explains that Apple suppliers are gearing up for new MacBook and AirPods models later this year.
We’ve previously heard that Apple intends to ship new MacBook Pro notebooks before the end of the year. The new report corroborates previous reports, explaining that the Cupertino company is making moves to ensure it has the required capacity is available to manufacture enough devices in time for launch.
A translation of the report cites a “legal person” telling that Apple will push for over 23 million MacBook shipments this year: “The legal person further pointed out that New Nikko will cooperate with the new Macbook and AirPods products in the near future to fully increase the capacity utilization rate, which is expected to drive the strengthening of operations in the second half of the year.”
The timeframe of the second half of 2021 lines up with a number of previous reports. “Reliable Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said that new MacBook Pro models could launch as soon as this summer,” notes MacRumors, “but analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, Nikkei Asia, and TrendForce have given a broader prediction that new MacBook Pro models will arrive in the second half of 2021.”
In addition to a new MacBook, the report notes that Apple is planning on releasing a new model of AirPods.
While the report did not state which MacBooks and AirPods are expected to be released, it is highly likely that it refers to redesigned MacBook Pro models featuring Apple Silicon and third-generation AirPods.
