Spotify Introduces ‘What’s New’ Feed to Keep up With Artists and Podcasts You Follow

Spotify is introducing a new feed to help users keep up with the artists and podcasts they choose to follow. The ‘What’s New’ feed streamlines a page of new releases and enables users to filter through those selections to find exactly what they’re looking for.

In a blog post, Spotify announced the introduction of the What’s New feed will be rolling out globally on iOS and Android within the next few weeks. As Spotify states, more than 50,000 hours of content is uploaded to streaming services each day. With so many new tracks, podcasts, and other types of content hitting Spotify, keeping up can be difficult. Hence, Spotify is now making it easier to stay up to date with what matters.

Once the What’s New feed is accessible and the latest version on Spotify is installed on your device, a new bell icon will be located in the top right-hand corner of the app. Whenever new content is available from artists and podcasts, a blue dot will appear next to the bell.

What’s New makes it easier than ever to catch all the latest songs and episodes from the creators you follow. Plus, it’s even updated in real time, so you know you’ll get to listen to new content just as it’s released.

The What’s New feed can filter content so if you’re looking for new additions in a specific music genre or podcast genre, you can customize that feed to show exactly what you’re looking for. It’ll also be a huge boon for podcasts as users can now stay up to date on new episodes without missing one or overlooking a release.

In order to have an artist or a podcast appear in the What’s New feed, users will simply need to head to their respective pages and hit the ‘Follow’ button.
