Production Delay Won’t Hold Up Apple Watch Series 7 Launch, Says Kuo

After reports surfaced of the Apple Watch Series 7 facing mass-production delays late last month, renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has offered a sigh of relief.

On Saturday, Kuo confirmed that the “impact on the release schedule and mass shipment schedule is not significant.”

On Friday, Kuo reported that Apple and its suppliers had “overcome issues about the Apple Watch Series 7,” and added that mass production would begin soon.

In his most recent note on Sunday (via 9to5Mac) Kuo said that Luxshare ICT, the main assembler of the Apple Watch Series 7, is “aggressively duplicating production lines and will start mass production of all production lines by the end of September.”

As such, Apple is currently expected to unveil and start delivering the Series 7 as previously predicted. However, if Apple keeps its launch schedule, the company’s next Apple Watch may only be available in a limited quantity at first. Kuo expects Series 7 supply to improve “significantly from mid-to-late October.”

The next Apple Watch is expected to bring a fresh new design, more in line with that of the iPhone 12 Pro and 2021 iPad Pro, as well as a brand new green colour option. The Series 7 is also expected to bring an increase in display size, from 40mm and 44mm to 41mm and 45mm, respectively.

Earlier today, Kuo said the next iPhone 13 lineup will ditch 64GB storage options and add a 1TB capacity.

Apple is currently expected to announce the Apple Watch Series 7 at its ‘California Streaming’ event next week, alongside the next iPhone.
