TikTok Hits 1 Billion Monthly Active Users Worldwide

Social media network TikTok announced on Monday it has surpassed 1 billion monthly active users worldwide, reaching a major milestone.
“Today, we’re celebrating that mission and our global TikTok community. More than 1 billion people around the world now come to TikTok every month to be entertained as they learn, laugh, or discover something new,” said the TikTok team in an announcement.
TikTok launched five years ago and according to the company in an email, the app first gained popularity during the initial COVID-19 lockdown and has since become “one of the fastest-growing social media apps”.

“Thank you for making this journey so special,” concluded TikTok, which offers short-form videos for users to view and share.
