Back in October 2020, Apple launched a repair program for AirPods Pro, related to the following sound issues:

  • Crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with exercise or while talking on the phone
  • Active Noise Cancellation not working as expected, such as a loss of bass sound, or an increase in background sounds, such as street or airplane noise

At the time, Apple said the repair program would apply to affected AirPods Pro for 2 years after the first sale of the retail unit. The repair program applies for Canadians as well.

But according to Reddit (via MacRumors), Apple has quietly updated its repair page to extend the program to 3 years.

You can check out the change below, noting the wording was changed to 3 years on October 1, 2021:

Again, if your AirPods Pro are suffering from sound issues or ANC is not working, get a replacement from Apple. But be warned the replacement set may have new ear tips that might give you an ear infection.
