iPhone 14 Pro Specs May Include 8GB RAM, Claims Rumour

Apple’s upcoming 2022 flagship iPhones could come with as much as 8GB of RAM.

The news was shared in a post from “yeux1122” on the Korean blog Naver suggesting that the iPhone 14 Pro models will feature 8GB of RAM, reports MacRumors. The “yeux1122” report also suggests that the supply chain requirements have already been confirmed for the additional RAM.

The post cites supply chain sources, suggesting that the memory components have been confirmed and mass production is accelerating. The source has a mixed track record and it all depends on Apple if it sees to continue with its plans till the launch.

iPhone has historically shipped with significantly less RAM than rival devices powered by Android largely due to the fact that iOS is so efficient, it simply doesn’t need as much as handsets running Google’s operating system.

But software optimizations can only go so far. In recent years, Apple has introduced new innovations that require more powerful hardware. We’re likely to see more of those with iPhone 14, which could see big camera improvements. Recent reports have indicated that iPhone 14 Pro could pack a 48-megapixel rear-facing camera — Apple’s largest yet.

Apple is widely expected to ship its new iPhone 14 lineup later this year, likely in or around September. The device will come in four versions with only the two Pro models set to benefit from the bump to 8GB of RAM.
