Covenant House Toronto Launching Gaming and Esports Fundraiser

Covenant House Toronto is launching a month-long fundraising event, raising money and awareness for at-risk youth, survivors of sex trafficking and experiencing homelessness. The Main Mission Charity Event starts on March 7 and will run until April 2, 2022.

Over the course of the month, participants are encouraged to host livestreams to help raise funds for ‘Main Mission.’ The fundraiser calls upon professional gamers, content creators, influential personalities, casual streamers, and community leaders to get involved and stream on behalf of the organization.

“We are very excited to once again hold a gaming-based fundraising event that has a real mission – to support youth who are homeless or trafficked,” said Mark Aston, Executive Director, Covenant House Toronto. “Main Mission is an opportunity for us to showcase the passion and ingenuity that the gaming community and gaming industry has for charitable causes like ours while doing what they love.”

In addition, Main Mission will conclude with a 12-hour live stream-a-thon on April 2. The livestream will see gamers and celebrity guests stop by and share their support.

This year, Covenant House Toronto hopes to raise $100,000. For participants, those who raise over $250 will receive a piece of Main Mission apparel, to show off their support. Additional prizes will also be given out during the campaign.

Those who wish to sign up can do so before March 7. Registrations can be made on the Main Mission website.
