SaskTel Brings 5G to Craven Ahead of Country Thunder Music Festival

Just in time for the Country Thunder festival taking place later this week, SaskTel has launched its 5G network in the Village of Craven, which will cover the grounds of the festival with 5G wireless connectivity.

“The launch of SaskTel’s 5G network is great news for Craven and country music fans alike,” said the minister responsible for SaskTel, Don Morgan.

“With the power of 5G at their fingertips, concert-goers will be able to stay connected like never before, while Craven residents and businesses will benefit from year-round access to one of the most advanced wireless networks in Canada.”

Powered by Samsung, SaskTel’s 5G network can reach speeds of up to 1.2 Gbps. Future benefits of the 5G network will include incredible capacity and ultra-low latency.

“We’re extremely excited to bring Country Thunder back to Saskatchewan in 2022,” said Kim Blevins, General Manager, Country Thunder Music Festivals. “As we get set to kick things off later this week, it’s great to know that our patrons will have access to SaskTel’s cutting-edge 5G network while they enjoy some of the best country music artists of our time.”

The expansion of 5G service to Craven is a direct result of SaskTel’s commitment to invest more than $1.5 billion of capital across Saskatchewan over the next five years.

The Country Thunder music festival takes place July 14-17.
