Apple Watch Touch Issues: Series 7/8, Ultra 1 also Affected
Back in February, numerous Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 users were reporting “ghost touches” with their smartwatch, essentially the watch looking like it’s been hacked or being taken over by random touches.
Apple said shortly afterwards it was investigating the issue and that a software update would be coming to address the issue.
Now, it seems this random touch issue also affects some Apple Watch Series 7, Series 8 and Ultra users as well, according to @StellaFudge who reported on the original issue.
“Apple has advised us not to replace watches for this issue and to tell people to basically force restart the watch by holding both buttons together for 10 seconds and also keep your watches up-to-date,” said the user on X this afternoon.
Stay tuned as word of this ‘ghost touch’ issue expands to Series 7/8 and the original Ultra should make its way to the web soon.
Have you suffered from this random touch issue on your Apple Watch? Let’s hope Apple fixes this sooner rather than later.
