Eve launched the Eve Blinds Collection first in the United States, offering made-to-measure smart blinds.
This new range of custom-made smart shades, powered by Eve MotionBlinds motors, can be ordered through the Eve website.
Additionally, Eve has made the Matter-compatible Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit for Roller Blinds available globally, allowing users to easily motorize their existing roller shades and integrate them into their preferred smart home platform. Prices for the Eve Blinds Collection start at approximately $330 USD, while the Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit is priced at $249 CAD.
“By automatically managing the natural light, the Eve Blinds Collection and Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit are the perfect additions to our portfolio because they maximize comfort and energy efficiency in the home,” stated Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve, in a statement to iPhone in Canada. “Whether you already have roller shades installed and just want to motorize them or are looking for a new and complete solution, Eve is the best place to start.”
Both the Eve Blinds Collection and shades retrofitted with the Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit can be controlled via iPhone, Android devices, or voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant. Manual operation is still possible with a pull cord.
The Eve app allows users to create schedules to automate the blinds according to their daily routines. Since both products are based on the Matter standard and use Thread network technology, they can be set up quickly using the mobile app or a voice assistant.
The Eve Blinds Collection offers contemporary colours and fabrics. Three types of fabrics are available: the semi-transparent Mombassa Collection, which filters daylight to create a cozy atmosphere; the blackout Mombassa Collection, providing maximum privacy with a white backside; and the Solar Collection, which has a metalized backing for optimal thermal properties and energy savings.
The Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit for Roller Blinds enhances basic blinds with Thread and Matter technology. This retrofit motor can be installed easily without wiring or technical expertise, and includes mounting brackets, covers, and adapters to fit various roller blind tubes.
For Apple Home users, the Matter-enabled motors with Eve MotionBlinds technology offer Adaptive Shading. The Eve app for iPhone and iPad can program the motor based on the window’s location and orientation, allowing the blinds to open or close dynamically with the sun’s position, which is pretty darn cool. This feature helps reduce heat loss and save energy costs in winter and recently won an Innovation Prize at the R+T trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany.
Eve says prospective customers can get fabric samples requested free of charge. The Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit for Roller Blinds is also available now for $249 CAD. We’ll get more information on international and Canadian availability soon, stay tuned.
