Humane’s Ai Pin Disaster: Charging Case May Catch Fire
The overhyped Humane Ai Pin was designed by two former Apple employees and has backing from major investors. But the idea and execution of the device has just hit a stage that can only be compared to a dumpster fire. The AI gadget is supposed to read out answers to your questions, but it doesn’t really work as stated every time.
The Ai Pin saw some scathing reviews by early reviewers, and now Humane has dropped a bombshell to owners: stop using the including charging case, as the latter may catch on fire. No big deal, right?
That’s according to an email Humane sent out to customers, obtained by The Verge.
“Upon receiving a single report of a charging issue while using a third-party USB-C cable and third-party power source, we identified a quality issue with the battery cell supplied by a third-party vendor,” the company stated.
The investigation revealed that the battery supplier no longer met Humane’s quality standards, posing a potential fire risk. Consequently, the vendor was immediately disqualified. The issue is specific to the battery cells and does not affect the Charge Case Accessory’s hardware design.
Humane reassured customers that other products, such as the Ai Pin, Battery Booster(s), and Charge Pad, are not affected and are safe for use.
To mitigate the inconvenience, Humane is offering an additional two months free of the Humane subscription. “Customer safety is our priority at Humane,” the company emphasized.
The company did not clarify what will happen to new shipments or detail a plan to replace these chargers. Yikes.

If it comes with that battery cell and cannot use a different battery cell the. It isn’t a third party supplier and fundamentally part of your design.
their excuse reeks.
