Elgato Launches Light Strip Pro: RGB LED Smart Lights

Elgato is making its RGB LED debut, launching an upgraded set of smart lights called ‘Light Strip Pro.’ The company is best known for premium, PC and streaming peripherals such as lights, microphones, and software.

Elgato’s Light Strip Pro may have appeared on the site, ready for purchase before an official announcement. First spotted by The VergeLight Strip Pro is available in Canada for $69.99. Elgato states that its new smart lights are “packed with individually addressable LEDs, Light Strip Pro creates cinematic light shows that bring multicoloured ambience to any space.”

Light Strip Pro has 120 individual addressable LEDs which enables users to customize and tailor to their preference. The new smart lights ship with an adhesive back to use on your desk. However, Elgato is also shipping Light Strip Pro with magnets as an alternative way of using them. Users can also cut between the LED to trim the lighting system if they wish.

Elgato’s Light Strip Pro is supported by Elgato software across several devices. As with other core products, users can customize the settings via their PC or Mac. Additionally, the Elgato Control Center app on iPhone and Android can be used. Plus, users can install the Control Center plugin for their Stream Deck if they wish to have certain scenes readily available.

Elgato isn’t exactly known for smart strip lighting. Up until this point, the company offered its Light Strip package for $32.99 CAD alongside an extension and connector set. However, these lights only render white lighting, ranging from cool to warm. Elgato’s core lighting products include the company’s Key Light and Ring Light.

As mentioned, Elgato hasn’t made a formal announcement on Light Strip Pro as of the time of writing. Typically, the company loves to celebrate new hardware launches. With this in mind, the webpage is currently active, which means a possible formal announcement may arrive as early as today.
