Apple Watch Series 10 to Offer Larger Display, Thinner Case: Kuo

The Apple Watch Series 10, expected to launch later this year, is rumoured to feature a larger display. The unannounced new wearable could also support a thinner case and design.

Apple’s upcoming Apple Watch may feature the largest display ever on the Cupertino company’s wearable. Via the Medium post from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (seen by MacRumors), it’s noted that the Apple Watch Series 10 could feature display upgrades to 45mm and 49mm. The Apple Watch Series 10 could also support a thinner chassis.

If the display size upgrades are correct, Apple would increase the screen size of the Apple Watch Series 10 from 41mm to 45mm and then expand the 45mm option to 49mm. Kuo didn’t specify how thin the new design may be, however.

While touching on the Apple Watch Ultra, Kuo notes that the design will remain “roughly the same” as the current option. That being said, a new dark/black case could be in the cards. The Apple analyst believes that the new colourway is being considered if production yields meet expectations.

Later in 2024, Apple will begin utilizing 3D printed technology to manufacture Apple Watch components. The company has undergone “intensive testing over the past year” to improve production efficiency. According to Kuo, BLT is the supplier of the new 3D-printed components. The shipments of 3D-printed components are expected to grow over the next few years given the cost advantages.

It’s long been rumoured that 2024’s Apple Watch Series 10 will be dubbed the ‘Apple Watch X’ to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the device. Kuo hasn’t made such claims in his latest note.

Apple is expected to host a keynote in September where it’ll likely reveal the Apple Watch Series 10 among this year’s flagship iPhone. A date has not been confirmed yet. Though, as history has shown, Apple adores that September slot, ahead of the fall season.

I would gladly trade a thinner case for more battery life.
Short battery life is what's keeping me from buying a new Apple Watch.
Some charge it at night, but what if you want to track your sleep?
This thing would need at least 3-4 days of battery life.
