ChatGPT Mac Download Now Available for All
OpenAI has announced the release of the ChatGPT desktop application for macOS, now available to all users.
The new app promises faster and more seamless access to ChatGPT, allowing users to interact with the AI directly from their desktop with the Option + Space keyboard shortcut. Previously, the app was only available to Plus subscribers, but a workaround did allow some non-Plus users to enable it on Mac desktops.
The ChatGPT desktop app enables users to chat about emails, screenshots, files, and anything on their screen. Features include the ability to take screenshots, upload files, ask questions, share images, and search through conversations. Additionally, users can practice new languages and start voice conversations by tapping the headphone icon within the app.
Designed to integrate smoothly with macOS, the app is compatible with macOS 14 and requires Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). A Windows version is expected to be released later this year. Also later this year, ChatGPT will make its way into iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS 15.
